The designs

'stof&stuff'
is a small textile studio in Hobart, Tasmania.

I produce limited edition screen-printed and digitally printed artwork, digitally printed tea towels, hobo-bags made out of natural fibres and some clothing.

The print-designs are based on mid-century wallpapers, textiles and fabrics, but have a distinct contemporary and North European feel.

love&clutter
Just talked to Leonie Struthers of 'the maker' and 'love&clutter' where my 'hobo bags' will now be for sale from tomorrow.

Both Leonie's shops are an inspiration for the designer/maker and are a great place to buy truly original, handmade products of a very high standard.

Merry Christmas
Just a bit of cooking to do, a Christmas cake and a Summer pudding to make and perhaps a bit of gardening if the weather holds out. And that is me done for Christmas 2010.

Hope everybody is going to have a nice time during the festive season, with nice presents, nice food, nice wine and of course nice company.

a very happy Christmas from all of us to all of you

Bags
While everybody is frantically searching for that  special present, that must-have dress, those lovely napkins and of course all that glorious food and wine, I have been happily sewing bags in my new little workroom.

The wall came down, resulting in lots and lots of brick dust through most of the house, which was of course not great, but the result is so wonderful and I now have my own spot again to do what I love most, designing, creating and making.

I will post a close-up photo that I took very quickly, before I whisked them away.

Cushions
Summer is here with its humid days, showers and lots of sunshine. The French doors are open in my soon to be little studio/workroom, a lovely place to potter and produce lots of bits and pieces. I am in my element!!

Next week the wall between kitchen and hallway will be dismantled to create a space to house the now abandoned dining table and life will be able to return to normal just before Christmas!

Oops, it has been a good month since I last posted. I have been busy making lots of cushions for the Etsy shop and I have also been doing quite a bit of marketing. I hope to have some more to say about the 'brick and mortar' shops in due course, will keep you posted. All quite time consuming, more so than I anticipated.

So have a look at the Etsy site at my latest efforts.

A very sunny day!

First day of sending off orders!

Very exciting, first order goes to Holland……………………(of course!). Who would it be?

Somebody called TT-1 ‘favourite item’ on Etsy, I wonder why??? Have to ask her or him.

Will take some photos of the finished wares, wrapped and all, and post them on Etsy, so keep looking.

This afternoon I will go to my Pilatus class to keep up my ‘core strength’ for printing, sewing, packaging! Did lots of gardening yesterday and my back feels good, so the Pilatus is paying off, not to forget the Zumba classes which I am addicted to now!

First day of my blog

These images are some of the designs
for my tea towels.

These designs are based on some some large screen prints I did earlier this year. The canvas prints are hanging in 'the Macquarie Foodstore'in South Hobart. Images of the work are in the 'previous work' 2010 section.

The design of the 'Tasmania a woman's view'
tea towel is from a bag I entered into the 'Material Girl' exhibition in 2007. It won the Textile price that year.(see 'previous work' 2007 section
